Energy investment with environmental awareness...
GGNCR Holding A.Ş. decided to invest in renewable energy sector in 2013 and put Konya Ortakonak-I GES and Amasya WPP projects, which are the first investments in this field, into operation in 2016. The project development process of the Şamlı Biogaz Plant, which is planned to be settled in Balıkesir, are still in progress.
The first ground arrangements and steel constructions placements for Konya Ortakonak-I GES were carried out in August 2015 and the installation of panels, inverters, transformers, medium voltage cables and other electrical equipment was completed in the first quarter of 2016 and temporary admissions were made in March 2016 and came into operation.
The plant with 7.7 MW installed power produces 12,000 MWe of electricity annually, which meets the electricity needs of 6,000 houses annually and prevents 6,900 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
The first excavation works for Amasya WPP within the body of Şehzade Enerji Üretim A.Ş., one of the GNCR Holding’s participations started in July 2015. The transmission line, switchyard, in-field access roads and turbine foundations were completed in March 2016, and on the same date the installation work of 14 units of V126-3.3 MW turbines commenced by Vestas. In May 2016, temporary admission of the first 5 turbines of the project were executed, energy sales of the plant has been initialized. The entire plant came into operation in July 2016.
The power plant, of which the installed power is at a level of 46.2 MW, meets the electricity requirements of more than 74,000 houses annually and prevents 80,000 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
Şamlı Bioyogaz Plant Project, which under project development process is ongoing in Balikesir, will be installed on a surface area of 20.400 m2 and will mainly be operated using bovine (stock and dairy cattle) scat and chicken scat (layer hen). When the plant that will produce 2 MWe of electricity is completed, it will have 2.35 MWt thermal power.
In the direction of the targets of GNCR Holding's growth in the field of renewable energy, especially wind, solar and biogas; licensed and unlicensed new project development works are ongoing within the GNCR Energy and Gencer Energy structures.
